On the morning of Thursday 20 November, Gainsborough played North Scarle in a friendy veterans’ match in cold conditions. With a temperature of 2 degrees plus a significant wind chill factor, it was a fairly spartan experience though, nevertheless, enjoyable. A light dusting of snow was swept from the courts before play commenced. There was even a light fall of snow during the match. We all had a good game and Gainsborough came out on top 7-2.
